Staff Roles
There are a variety of staff members at ODS who perform different functions. All ODS staff members work towards assisting you in getting equal access to an education and in ensuring that you receive the services that you need and are authorized for. The functions of the various staff members include but are not limited to:
- Assistive Technology Coordinator - assists students in learning about assistive technology and how technology may assist them in compensating for their disabilities. Manages the Assistive Technology Training Center computer lab (ATTC) and provides one-on-one and small group training on equipment and software in the lab.
- Auxiliary Services Administrator - (Sarah Terry) - coordinates the provision of print materials in alternative media. This position is responsible for ensuring that students who use taped textbooks, scanned materials, enlarged print or braille get the materials that they need in a timely manner.
- Auxiliary Services Information Associate - assists with the production and flow of Alternative Media Services as well as provides backup support to the Exam Scheduling Coordinator.
- Counselors - (Chris Keck, Enjie Hall, Caitlyn McCandless, Kera McClain, Jill Malolepszy)
all eligible students with a disability are assigned to a disability counselor who collaborates with the student in the planning and implementation of appropriate services and accommodations. The Counselors collaborate with students on disability related issues of academic accommodations, learning strategies, advocacy skills, transition issues, and career planning. - Exam Scheduling Coordinator - (Ruby Stewart) - coordinates the procurement, scheduling and proctoring of exams when taken at ODS with accommodations. - Exam Scheduling Assistant - (Faye Harrington) - assists the Exam Scheduling Coordinator with coordinating the procurement, scheduling and proctoring of exams when taken at ODS with accommodations.
- Interpreting & Transcription Services Coordinator - (Claudia Kinder) - coordinates sign language interpreting, TypeWell services, and real-time captioning for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
