We hope to see you there!

2.  Voice Recognition Assistive Technology Demonstration During ODS Open House

As part of the ODS Open House, there will be a demonstration of Dragon Naturally Speaking voice recognition software.  This software allows you to type using only your voice and is remarkably easy to use.  Dragon is excellent for computer users that can not use a keyboard and also for users that do not keyboard very well or very fast.  It can cut your typing time in half or better! Dragon can even help the user to become a better writer by allowing the user to dictate text directly into the computer by simply talking to the computer! Come to the ATTC conference room at 2 pm for live demonstration and a chance to use the software yourself.  All are welcome!

3.  New Exam Accommodations Policy Reminder

ODS is committed to ensuring the highest possible level of academic integrity of the ODS exam environment. In an effort to increase our commitment, ODS has implemented the following exam accommodation policy changes that went into effect this summer:

All ODS students must show picture ID to ODS exam staff when checking in to take an exam. BUCK-IDs and driver's licenses are acceptable.

ODS staff now monitor all ODS exam locations (studios, conference rooms and offices) via a closed-circuit video monitoring system.  Exam video content is stored on a secured, on-site digital recording device that is maintained exclusively by ODS staff.

Any student observed utilizing any unauthorized resource during an exam will be reported to their instructor.

4.  Alterative Media Reminder

If you are using Alternative Media this Autumn quarter, please remember to turn in your course syllabi to Sarah or Kera during the first week of classes. If you have added or dropped courses that involve Alternative Media, e-mail Kera at kmcclain@studentaffairs.osu.edu  or Sarah at terry.5@osu.edu.

5.  Exam Accommodations Reminder

Students that receive Exam Accommodations – please submit your competed proctor sheets to ODS as early in the quarter as possible to ensure proper scheduling of your exams.  Please remember that proctor sheets must be submitted no less than 5 business days prior to your first exam or quiz.
