2.   Summer Research Internships can Earn You $2500.00!

The University Honors & Scholars Center has announced that it will award several Summer Research Internships, in the amount of $2500, to especially promising Honors Students so that they will have the opportunity to enhance significantly the quality of their Senior Honors Research and Thesis Projects. Selection will be made by a University-wide committee with the charge of evaluating the student's research proposal, the student's academic performance and promise, and the faculty mentor's commitment to the project.

Students in the College of Biological Sciences are eligible to apply for Mayers Summer Internships, in the amount of $2600, and will be evaluated using similar criteria. Candidates for either award should assume that, if selected, they will spend approximately forty hours per week doing research over a ten-week period and that this research will provide the basis upon which to do more intensive research during the senior year.

Applications for both awards (students should apply for only one of the two awards) are available at the University Honors & Scholars Center (220 West 12th Avenue, 292-3951) as well as online by visiting the following links:

3.  College Table Tennis National Championship at OSU

March 30-April 1, OSU will be hosting the College Table Tennis National Championships, including an event for disabled athletes. It's a great opportunity and very convenient for OSU students. They don't need to be table tennis pros. I know that people that competed in the past had a lot of fun and really enjoyed the experience.

Below you'll find some more specifics on the event. So if you know of anyone that might be interested or you have a relevant email list you could forward this to, I'd appreciate it. It would be great if several students from OSU could participate.

Thanks in advance for your help,

David Del Vecchio
