1. Recreational Sports Survey- from Lindsay Meyer, Adapted Rec Sports!

Due to the diverse student population at Ohio State, the Department of Recreational Sports, a member of the Office of Student Affairs, has made a commitment to serving people with disabilities through the Adapted Recreational Sports (ARS) program.  However, we need your opinions! We have provided a SHORT survey, at the link below, to help identify what Rec Sports programs that students want.  The information obtained from you in this survey will be used to help administration implement new Rec Sports programs to best meet your needs.  You are not required to complete this survey and all information will be confidential. Thank you for your time!

2. May Week! What is May Week? May Week!

May Week is a celebration for The Ohio State University community presented by The Ohio State University Alumni Association, Inc. and its Student-Alumni Council. May Week celebrates the end of another school year, the onset of spring, and the Ohio State campus community. By incorporating a multitude of student organizations, university departments, community businesses and corporations, this week-long celebration provides a variety of entertainment for the students, faculty, staff and the Columbus community.

The Department of Recreational Sports will be having a Recreational Sports Fair on Thursday, May 10 from 2-6 p.m.  Stop by the main oval between 2 and 6 for the opportunity to participate in activities such as fly fishing, the mountain bike course, walking the slack line, or just to learn about many of the other opportunities available through the Outdoor Adventure Center. You can find out information about their upcoming trips at http://recsports.osu.edu/outdoor_calendar.asp .

Participate in active demonstrations put on by the Ohio State University Sports Club: take on the robot in table tennis, test your power output on the rowing machine, knock down the pins with the Bowling Club, or try martial arts. The Wellness Center will provide wellness screenings at no cost to students and Adapted Recreational Sports and the Office for Disability Services will be on hand to highlight their programs via interactive field games!

Participate in the Intramurals Longest Golf Drive and Putting Competition as well as the Mirror Lake Modified Triathlon.

See you on the Oval- Rain or Shine!

3. Wheelchair Basketball Update!

The Office for Disability Services and UNITY held its 2nd Wheel Chair Basketball Open Gym on Friday April 27th. We had 20- 25 individuals participate in this event! One of the members included Rick Morrison, current president of the Ohio Wheelchair Sports Association. He is also a former player on the team and readily shared his knowledge and expertise to the participants.

Be on the lookout for announcements regarding upcoming games in the future!

4. Recreational Sports provides inclusive Recreational Services!
