1.  ODS Now Accepting Applications for Three Annual ODS Scholarships!

 

 There are three scholarships offered annually by the Office for Disability Services.  Two are for students who have a visual impairment and one is for students who have a mobility impairment.   The application deadline is April 11th, 2008. Complete and submit the necessary application forms and you could be awarded scholarship money for the upcoming 2008-2009 school year!  The three available scholarships are listed below and application forms are available at the ODS website: http://www.ods.osu.edu/current_scholarship.asp.  Alternatively, you can simply click on the link below the scholarship you are interested in to open the Microsoft Word version of each application.



The Ohio Lions Foundation Helen Keller Scholarship

The Ohio Lion's Foundation awards four $2750 scholarships to qualified students with visual impairments who are attending OSU and are Ohio residents. To apply, complete the application form, include a copy of your college transcript, and a one to two page essay. The transcript does not need to be an official transcript. The scholarship will be presented to the winner during the ODS Recognition Reception in April.

The Ohio State University Charles W. Medick Scholarship

To apply for the Charles W. Medick Scholarship you must have a visual disability and complete the application form. The number of scholarships and their monetary values vary each year.  Include a copy of your college transcript, (an unofficial transcript is OK), and a one to two page essay.  The scholarship will be presented to the winner during the ODS Recognition Reception in April.

The Anna Sborowitz Scholarship

To be eligible for the Anna Sborowitz Scholarship, you must have a mobility impairment with severe limitations in movement or use of one or more extremities. You must demonstrate financial need, show satisfactory progress in your academic studies, and complete the application form. The number of scholarships and their monetary values vary each year.  Include a copy of your college transcript, (an unofficial transcript is OK), and a one to two page essay.  The scholarship will be presented to the winner during the ODS Recognition Reception in April.

2. Counselor Reassignments for Enjie Hall!

 

ODS counselor, Enjie Hall, will be out of the office on leave.  If Enjie is your counselor, please see any of the other available counselors if you have any needs and concerns that need to be addressed.  Enjie will be returning sometime during spring quarter and that time has not been determined.

3. Exam Reminders Winter Finals!

 

  • Please turn in any remaining Exam Proctor Sheets as soon as possible to schedule Final Exams in at ODS. Please remember incomplete proctor sheets will be returned to you.

  • You are responsible for contacting ODS during the 10th week of the quarter to obtain your final exam schedule. Be sure to check in with ODS during this final week of classes to obtain your final exam schedule and to ensure you know your final exam scheduled times.

 

  • Reminder: Be sure to bring your OSU Buck ID, driver's license, or other photo ID with you for all exams taken with ODS.

 


 

4.  Daylight Savings Time Springs Forward Sunday 3/9/08!

 

At 2 a.m. on March 9, 2008, please remember to turn your clocks forward one hour, marking the beginning of Daylight Saving Time (DST).  Please remember to do this so you are not an hour late to your Final Exams!
