1.  The Next ODS Student Advisory Committee Meeting Scheduled for November 15th at 5pm

The Student Advisory Committee (SAC) is an ODS organization that meets once a quarter to discuss issues surrounding people with disabilities.  This Committee provides students with a confidential forum to offer feedback and collaborate on the services and programs they receive from Office for Disability Services.  The meeting will be held in ATTC Computer Lab Conference Room in room 102 Pomerene Hall. 2.  Vocational Guidance Services Seeking Job Coaches

 

Have you ever thought of being a job coach?  Help people with disabilities learn valuable employment skills!  You would work along-side someone who has never worked, or who is returning to work after time off to ensure they are adjusting to employment.  Training is provided.  Interested?  Contact Mary Koeninger (koeninger.3@osu.edu / 292-3307) or Lenny Leeman, General Manager of Vocational Guidance Services at 614-794-3297.



3.  World Usability Day is November 14 

World Usability Day is a project of the Usability Professionals' Association - promoting usability concepts and techniques worldwide. 4. Universal Usability Technology Open House at the Digital Union Monday November 20, 1 to 5 pm


Want to learn about leading edge technologies for universal access?  Stop by the Ohio State University’s Digital Union on Monday November 20, from 1 to 5 pm for our first Universal Usability Tech Open House, featuring stations where you can play with the latest in accessibility technologies from Apple, Freedom Scientific, Human Ware and Kurzweil. Chat with vendors and check out interactive demos of Trekker GPS, Dragon, ZoomText, JAWS, WYNN and Apple’s new VoiceOver and Zoom technologies, then experience an accessible rich-media website covering the history of Disability Studies at OSU.

5.  ODS Office Holiday Schedule

ODS will be closed on the following days this month due to official university holidays:

 

  • Friday, November 10th - Veteran's Day Observed - no classes, offices closed.
  • Wednesday, November 22 - ODS will be closing at 5:00 PM
  • Thursday, November 23rd - Thanksgiving Day Observed - no classes, offices closed.
  • Friday, November 24th - Columbus Day observed - no classes, offices closed.


 6. Proctor Sheet Reminder

 

Students who plan to take their Final Exams at ODS, need to have their Proctor Sheets turned in by this Thursday, 11/9/2006.  If you have questions, please contact Sarah Terry or Kera McClain at 614-292-3307. 


 

7. Alternative Media Update
