3. There’s Still Time to Complete the ODS Online Student Survey!
The staff at the OSU Office for Disability Services (ODS) takes much pride in the work we do and the services we provide. We would like to get your feedback to help us assess and improve our services. All ODS students are invited to take the ODS Online Student Survey and tell us how we are doing!
This survey consists of modules that are brief and will not take much time. We’d like everyone to complete the module, the ODS and OSU Climate and Accessibility Survey. Then, we’d like you to complete only the remaining modules that apply to services that you actually use. These surveys are short and will take only about 60 seconds each.
Your responses will be anonymous, but you can provide your contact information in the comment box if you wish. Once you have completed and submitted your modules you can print a confirmation showing your completion of the survey. Drop by the ODS office with this confirmation page, place it in the ODS Online Student Survey Entry Box at the front desk, and you will be entered into a drawing for one of two $50.00 check prizes!
NEW: You may also email ODS Counselor Chris Keck (ckeck@studentlife.osu.edu) your confirmation AND contact information to be entered in the drawing!
Please click on the following link for the survey:

6. Future Law Students Get Experience with Pre-Professional Law Program!
WRIGHTCHOICE, INC. Announces
Pre- Professional Law Program 4th Cycle
WrightChoice Inc. is now seeking applications for the PPLP Pre-Professional Law Program. The WrightChoice PPLP offers an elite experience for undergraduate students who are interested in the legal profession. This rigorous eight-week program is designed to provide an overview of the legal profession and prepare students for law school.
WrightChoice Inc. Executive Director and Founder TyKiah Wright stated, "Now is the time for aspiring attorneys to gain valuable experience in the field of law. I am proud that this program has helped our students gain the necessary connections in the legal community," said Wright.
Students who attend the Pre-Professional Law Program will be chosen to rotate among corporate law firms, public interest law service providers, trial courts and state legal agencies for an eight week period. The PPLP allows students to observe and be exposed to various types of law. Every Friday students will attend debriefing sessions to discuss their placement experiences, any pre-conceived expectations, and dialogue with seasoned professionals.
The goals of the program include:
- Introducing minority students and/or students with disabilities to various legal practice areas
- Fostering interaction between lawyers and judges and minority students and/or students with disabilities in a professional work setting
- Allowing minority students and/or students with disabilities to observe various court proceedings and client interactions
- Creating an open dialogue about law school requirements, legal career preparation, and legal employer expectations between minority students and/or students with disabilities and legal practitioners
Students who are interested in the program should apply as soon as possible, as the deadline for applications is March 2, 2009. Applications are available by calling WrightChoice at (614) 802-2364 or by visiting www.wrightchoice.org/programs/prepro
