4. OSU Psychological Services Center Provides Low-cost On-campus Therapy for Students! The Ohio State
Psychological Services Center (PSC) is the Psychology Department's outpatient clinic for adults, children, and families seeking low-cost psychological assessment and psychotherapy. The clinic serves adults from a range of backgrounds, with a variety of mental health concerns. These include, but are not limited to: depression and other mood disorders; anxiety disorders, such as generalized anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, or panic disorder; personality disorders; and stress management. The PSC is a training site for graduate students in the clinical psychology program at OSU, so clients are either seen by a licensed psychologist or a student in the doctoral clinical psychology program who is supervised by a licensed psychologist.
For OSU students, we provide on-campus therapy for only $10/session with no limit on the number of sessions. The price for non-OSU students is determined by a sliding fee scale, which is based on income and number of dependents. In cases of substantial economic hardship, fees may be reduced or in rare cases waived completely. However, we do not take insurance. We are currently seeking new adult clients, so the first appointment can normally be scheduled within a week of the initial inquiry.
Please call 614-292-2059 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

6. The Washington Center Extends Internship Application Deadline!
In response to requests from students and liaisons, we've officially extended this year's summer deadline for our Washington, D.C. internship programs to April 3, 2009. Of course, we defer to your institution and campus liaison for final approval, but we hope that you'll be able to accommodate additional students who may have just recently learned about the opportunity. Please continue to advise students to submit their materials as soon as possible, as earlier application positions them better for financial assistance and internship placements.
Also, please note that we have several full housing scholarships ($3,395) available for students with disabilities this summer. This award is made possible by the AT&T Foundation and The HSC Foundation and is increased for the summer from $2,500 in recent terms. In order to be considered, students must provide documentation of their disability and may be asked to write a personal statement. Even if students are not selected for this particular award, they may be considered for other TWC scholarships and are able to work with our Student Life staff to request accommodations: www.twc.edu/disability_services.shtml
Prospective interns looking forward to the fall semester may be faced with decisions regarding on-campus housing and course selection in the near future, so we hope that you'll encourage them to speak with their liaison and send their application prior to our competitive deadline of May 1. It's always a struggle for students to make arrangements around the time of our fall regular deadline in June, so it's important that they get a head start!
As always, don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything we can do to assist you or your students.
Regards,
Sara Clement
