Beginning on Monday August 3, 2009 for approximately 4 weeks the sidewalk entry/exit will be closed on the north elevator tower side of the 9th Avenue Garage. There will be additional temporary disability spaces created on level 1w so persons can use the sidewalk on that side to exit the garage. If you use the tunnel then you can continue to park in the disability spaces on level 1e.  Below are a few details that have a lot more specific details about the project.

  • Monday 8/3 - approx. four weeks: the pedestrian entry/exit from the North elevator tower will close to facilitate re-grading, new sidewalks, planters & utility/lighting work outside the garage.

o       Individuals with disabilities needing to access the tunnel will be instructed to park on Level 1e and use the elevator down to the tunnel

o       Individuals with disabilities needing to exit ground level will be instructed to park on Level 1w and use the sidewalk along the North entry lanes to the garage.

  • Friday, 8/7 - Monday, 8/10: BOTH North exit lanes will close for replacement of drive lanes out to 9th Avenue.

o       Traffic will be diverted out the South exit and down 8th Avenue to Neil Avenue.

o       We will have a Special Duty CPD officer working the 8th Ave & Neil Ave intersection on Friday, 8/7 & Monday, 8/10 from 3p - 6p to help with potential traffic issues.

  • Tuesday, 8/11 - Friday, 8/14: The West lane of the North exit will remain closed to allow contractor to finish curb work in drive lane. The East exit lane will be available.
